Rare Fender Japan Contemporary/Standard Telecaster from the era when Fender Japan WAS Fender. Early Made in Japan C series production from 1985-86, the period when Fullerton had closed & Corona was being built.
Has a mix of features from Dan Smith era Teles (top-loading, 22 frets, truss rod adjustment at the nut, 5 screw pickguard & six saddle bridge) and Japanese hardware & electronics from the time, body mounted neck pickup etc.
Slightly flatter radius than the reissue series instruments & different frets.
Overall 8/10 condition, there is no denying this guitar has seen plenty of play over the last 30+ years. Bridge pickup seems to have been removed & replaced at some time. Frets around 80%, some visible signs of wear, but not dead-spots or excessive buzzing.
Body shows general player wear to both front & back, but no major dings or repairs.
Comes with original Black vinyl Fender Japan gigbag!
